Morning Flight

from €54.00

Seamist is a phenomenon where mist (or fog) starts to form from the surface of the sea because of the temperature difference of the air and the water. For this to happen the air temperature has to be at least - 15 degrees celsius and the surface must not be frozen. Or so I have heard. I was photographing this in the southern coast of Finland near Porvoo during sunrise when I saw from the corner of my eye that a flock of birds was flying along the horizon towards the rising sun. I quickly pointed my camera towards them and took a burst of photos as they flew past the sun. The moment was over quickly and I wasn't sure if the camera even properly focused on the birds so I opened the camera's gallery to check if I had gotten any good photos. To my luck I had gotten a photo where the focus was spot on and the birds were perfectly located just in front of the sun.
